Great letter on State of New York, Executive Chamber, Albany stationery, dated May 21, 1932, as FDR was in high gear to secure the Democratic nomination for President of the United States, to Mr. A. J. Hawkins of Eminence, Missouri. FDR writes: "My dear Mr. Hawkins: –/ Just a line to thank you for your letter telling me a little more about yourself. It makes me all the more grateful that I have the support of such a loyal Democrat as you./ I know that I have many warm friends in Missouri and am delighted to know that you are numbered among them and am looking forward to having an opportunity to thank you in person at some not too distant date./ Yours very sincerely,/ Franklin D. Roosevelt." A terrific political letter during a critical political time for Governor Roosevelt.
