Franklin D. Roosevelt. Typed Letter Signed. One page 4to, State of New York, Executive Chamber letterhead, from Warm Springs Georgia, May 3, 1932, with original transmittal envelope, while FDR was Governor of New York and within two months the Democratic candidate for President of the United States, to Mr. George A. Fister of Allentown, Pennsylvania, with interesting content related to FDR's own collecting habits. FDR writes: "Dear Mr. Fister:/ Thank you for telling me about those covers. However, I am not collecting recent naval material – only the old things./ Very sincerely yours,/ Franklin D. Roosevelt." FDR was an avid collector of historic naval materials, including prints, models, and books. As a matter of fact, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library in Hyde Park, New York has in its collection approximately 6,000 prints and naval photographs which FDR collected between about 1910 and 1945.  A very interesting letter by FDR.
