    -To: Walter J. Crafts, Treasurer of Volunteers of America, Inc., New York City.
    -Original folds, minor toning at edges, else fine.

    FDR writes (in part): "I am glad to send you a small check for the work of the Volunteers of America. I only wish I could make it more." Includes Volunteers of America envelope.

    Franklin D. Roosevelt, one page, quarto, State of New York Executive Chamber, Albany, New York, from Warm Springs, Georgia, November 21, 1931, to Mr. Walter J. Crafts of the Volunteers of America, Inc. FDR writes: "Dear Mr. Crafts:/ I am glad to send you a small check for the work of the Volunteers of America. I only wish I could make it more./ Very sincerely yours,/ Franklin D. Roosevelt." Interesting letter regarding FDR's charitable contributions during his tenure as Governor of New York. Accompanying this item is a Volunteers of America, Inc. envelope with the hand-written words "Franklin D. Roosevelt's letter" written in pencil on the envelope.
