A wonderful and large 11 x 14" black and white photograph of FDR in the act of lighting a cigarette, with three news reporters beside him, including George Durno of the International News Service, in naval military uniform. FDR inscribes the large photograph at the bottom: "For George – Changing Calendars/ Franklin D. Roosevelt." When FDR gave his twice weekly press conferences in the Oval Office, in the front row, by tradition, stood the men representing the wire services: Douglas Cornell of Associated Press, Merriman Smith of United Press, and George Durno of the International News Service. What a fabulous and rare large signed photograph of FDR surrounded by the press.
