A wonderful and original 9 ½ x 12" black and white pencil lithorgraph of FDR from 1933, signed by the artist: "Sketch by W. G. Rounds/ Boston, Mass/ ©33." FDR signs the original pencil drawing at the bottom left of the piece: "Franklin D. Roosevelt/ 1941." This is a magnificent and original lithograph, a marvelous likeness of FDR as a profile from the right side of his face. This signed lithograph of FDR was hung at Val-Kill Cottage in Hyde Park, New York by Eleanor Roosevelt,  and sold at the Christie's "The Roosevelt Era" auction in February, 2001, Lot 167. Washington George Rounds, the artist who produced this wonderful lithograph of FDR, was both an artist and photographer who lived in the Boston area in the early 1930s. His lithographic sketch of FDR was reproduced in The Boston Globe in February, 1934. W. G. Rounds also invented many photographic devices that he sold to the Eastman Kodak Company. He returned to Canada in the late 1930s where he died in 1942. A truly unique and original lithograph of FDR from 1933 signed later by the President during the fateful year of 1941, as FDR indicates in his own hand, a wonderful item.
