    French Composer Daniel Auber Autograph Letter Signed. One page of a bifolium, 4" x 5.25", in part: "I shall be very glad to have Rossini in my box! Never will it have been occupied more to my taste."

    French Novelist Jules Sandeau Autograph Letter Signed. One page of a bifolium, 4.75" x 6", accompanied by an engraving of the author, 7.25" x 10" (sight) matted to the measurement of 11.75" x 16.25".

    French Literary Critic Charles Augustine Sainte-Beuve Autograph Letter Signed.

    wo pages of a bifolium, 4.5" x 7", September 1895. Writing to Roger Marx, in part: " know his fifteen books of sketches, analyzed with the help of a Japanese..."

    Together with a period albumen of Sarah Bernhardt, 2.25" x 4.5" (sight), matted to the overall size of 4" x 6". Bernhardt is seated, wearing an elaborate dress and a small crown; and a period photograph of Alexandre Cabanel, 3.75" x 4.75" (sight), matted to the overall size of 6.25" x 7", standing with a cigarette.

    Condition: Letters are all in good condition, lightly toned, usual mail folds, some small pieces of archival tape on verso. Engraving has light foxing, light toning at edges. Photograph of Bernhardt has some imperfections at edges, photograph of Cabanel has a small hole near bottom.
