    Description

Edgar Mitchell Signed and Annotated Apollo 14 Lunar Surface Panoramic Color Photo. A 40" x 8" photo showing Mitchell and the LM on the moon. He has signed in silver felt tip to the right of the LM: "Fra Mauro Landing Site/ by Edgar Mitchell/ Apollo 14 Lunar Module Pilot/ February 5,6, 1971". Mitchell takes you on a tour of the landscape pointing out and writing explanatory comments above several features of the photo (left to right): "First Functional/ TV camera on the moon", "Me", "Hi Gain Antenna", "Cone Crater", "Flag", "Sun", "Antares", "Triplet Craters", and "Solar Wind Experiment". A breathtaking image of a view that only twelve humans ever saw firsthand. Stored rolled. Very fine.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
