DescriptionDwight D. Eisenhower Examination Board Form Signed "DD Eisenhower." One partially printed page, 8" x 9.5", Camp Meade, Maryland; July 20, 1920. Marked No. L-24-E, the form relays the decision regarding the appointment of "James Healey...in the Cavalry as a First Lieutenant." Unfortunately for Healey, his appointment was denied on the basis of "Failure to pass all examinations in educational subjects." The form goes on to add that Healey displays only that of "A man of average intelligence and personality. No outstanding personal characteristics." Signed by Eisenhower as Captain of the Infantry and Manus McCloskey as Colonel of Field Artillery. The form is mounted in a plastic sleeve and framed with a plaque and engraving of Eisenhower to the overall size of 24.75" x 20.25".
Condition: Light edge toning with a small spot of soiling at the lower left. Boldly signed by Eisenhower.
