Clarence Darrow: Signed Check with Two Photographs. February 21, 1924 check completed and signed by Clarence Darrow, made payable to Eyles Simpson in the amount of $100. Loss to upper left corner, else a fine example. Sold together with a 10" x 8" sepia-tone photograph of Darrow seated at his desk taking notes (by William J. Burkhardt of the Chicago Journal newspaper) and a 9.5" x 7.5" sepia-tone photograph of Darrow and three other attorneys (Henry Fairfield Osborn, Bainbridge Colby and Dudley Field Malone) "taken in July 1926 anticipating cooperation in Scopes Trial. Dayton Tennessee". One minor crease. The consignor's great aunt was Ruby Darrow, wife of the noted trial lawyer.
