A document appointing "Thomas Proctor to be One of my Deputy-Lieutenants, for and in the Said Tower-Hamlets, and the Liberties thereof, to act, execute and perform the said Office to the Intent may execute and perform all and every the Powers contained in the several Acts of Parliament in that Case..." Signed as Constable of the Tower of London, "Cornwallis." Countersigned by John Gore.

    Condition: Stray pencil mark crosses one letter in Cornwallis's signature. Foxed and rubbed with bumped corners. Pencil notation to recto and verso.
