Charles C. Pinckney Autograph Letter Signed "Charles Cotesworth Pinckney." Two pages of a bifolium, 8" x 10", Pinckney Island; December 21, 1819. Addressed to Mr. Petit de Villers, acknowledging the receipt "by Capn. Cooper the Patent Sky-Lights...the cost of which both for my Brother & myself, I will be obliged to you to charge to me." He goes on to comment about the price of cotton, recommending that "I think you had better not wait till the price of Sea Island Cotton reaches what it brought the close of the last commercial season before you dispose of mine." He also requests to procure Fowler's Mineral Solution along with numerous varieties of cabbage seed and some planks of wood. Pinckney was one of the Signers of the U.S. Constitution and was the Federalist presidential candidate in 1804 and 1808.

Condition: Letter is toned throughout, with usual mail folds. Some small amount of paper loss where the wax seal was broken; this does not affect the text. Overall good.
