    Charles A. Lindbergh Signed Copy of We with related materials. New York & London: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1927. Inscribed on the second front fly leaf: "To P.W. Remig-Jr. / [signed]Charles A. Lindbergh." 8vo, 318 pages. Illustrated with forty-six plates of photographs. Photographic frontispiece. Publisher's blue cloth over boards with titles and decoration in gilt on the front cover and spine.

    Accompanying the book is a one page Richard R. Blythe TLS, 8.5" x 11", on H.A. Bruno-R.R. Blythe and Associates letterhead, New York, October 24, 1927, addressed to P.W. Remig Jr. inviting him, "at the request of Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh," to "an informal dinner . . . to express his personal appreciation to you, for splendid cooperation prior to his take-off for Paris." With a partial newsletter page regarding the dinner, dated November 2, 1927, reading, in part: "Mr. Umlauf... and Mr. Remig of the Manufacturer's Service Division, of our company, were among the invited guests, as both of these men were very active in assisting the Colonel following his arrival in New York . . . As a souvenir of the occasion, each guest received an autographed copy of Colonel Lindbergh's famous book 'We.'" Also included are three photographs of Lindbergh, two of which feature him with his plane, Spirit of St. Louis, and a 4.25" x 6.5" program for the above mentioned dinner.

    In 1927, P.W. Remig was an employee of the Vacuum Oil Company, a pioneer in oil manufacturing and the manufacturer of Mobil oil, which Lindbergh used on his transatlantic flight. Vacuum Oil merged with Standard Oil Company in 1931 and is today known as Exxon Mobil.

    Condition: The spine is cocked slightly and the covers show mild wear; rear cover exhibits some light staining. Corners are bumped. Page bearing frontispiece through page 12 has areas of paper loss at the right edge. Pages 53-72 have a small tear at the upper edge. Pages 293-296 show minor paper loss in the upper corner. Toned throughout.
