    Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Photograph with Lengthy Autograph Inscription Signed on Verso, 8" x 4" image, overall 8" x 6". The B&W photograph pictures all 11 original Soviet cosmonauts and their facsimile signatures. The handwritten inscription on verso, in Russian: "To dear Mikhail Mikhailovich Filippov/ on the day of glorious seventieth birthday/ with wishes of health, important scientific and practical/ activity. Yours sincerely/ Gagarin/24.4.66." On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first human being in space. He was killed in 1968 in a flight training accident. Gagarin was 34 years old. The photo has minor surface creases and there is light soiling in the area of Gagarin's handwriting.
