    Description

    William Thomson, Lord Kelvin, Autograph Letter Signed "Kelvin." Three pages of a bifolium, 4.5" x 7", on University of Glasgow stationery, March 23, 1896. Addressed to "Bower," Lord Kelvin writes that he is enclosing a "short report in writing as you may wish to put it on record." Kelvin (1824-1907), the first British scientist elevated to the House of Lords, was a mathematical physicist for whom the units of absolute zero are named. Lightly soiled with areas of toning. Adhesive ghosting on page three at the corners.
