    "One of a kind"

William Pogue: But for the Grace of God Signed Book, a Mis-bound Copy Directly from His Personal Collection, with Handwritten Notes and LOA. An Autobiography of an Aviator and Astronaut (Rogers, AR: Soar with Eagles, 2011). Trade paperback, stated first edition. Signed on the title page: "Bill Pogue/ Pilot, Skylab 4". Pogue has attached four "Post-it" notes to the cover and first page of the book explaining how this copy's pages were assembled in the wrong order; two of these notes are also signed. Unread copy. Very fine condition.

Included with this lot is a handwritten Letter of Authenticity from Bill Pogue giving the details of this particular book's binding problem. It reads, in full: "The first print run of 'But for the Grace of God' was for 1,000 copies, which were numbered and signed. They were definitely 'collectors items' but subsequent print runs were 'garden variety' standard run items except for 'one book' in the 2nd print run of 1,000. This book was assembled improperly and 'somehow' the last three pages (of the properly printed book) precede the title page in the front of the book, but those pages are repeated in the proper order at the end of the book. This book is certainly 'one of a kind' and is included in my list of offerings. Bill Pogue, Pilot, Skylab 4, February 4, 2013"
