William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody: Fantastic Personal Autograph Letter Signed "Uncle Will". One page, 8.5" x 11", on Buffalo Bill and the 101 Ranch Shows letterhead, Manistee, Michigan, September 8, 1916, to Cody's niece, Seattle, Washington. A fantastic personal letter written to his niece four months before his death. It reads in part: "You know of course I am not with the Sells Floto Circus. They are as you say billing me. I have no redress at present but will later on. I wish the Seattle News papers would inform their readers that I am not with the Sells Floto Circus. I can't hear a thing about the oil at Cody. I am feeling pretty well and we are having nice business. Remember me to the Treats and friends. Love to you and Hellen [sic]. Uncle Will. Are you reading the Hearts magazine." The letter is written in Cody's bold hand on his business letterhead which features a fabulous color litho illustration of soldiers and Indians and entitled "Preparedness". The letter comes with the original transmittal envelope which also features a color illustration of Cody. The letter has the usual old fold creases, otherwise it and the envelope are in fine condition.
