    Description

William Anders Apollo 8 Launch Cover and Typed Letter Signed. There are two signed items in this lot: (1) An Apollo 8 philatelic cover with an Orbit Covers cachet, cancelled December 21, 1968, the day of launch, addressed to "HON. Marshall J. Beverley." It is signed "Anders", partly across the cachet. (2) A TLS "Bill", one page, on United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission letterhead, February 26, 1975, Washington, D.C. to Marshall J. Beverley as president of the Friendship Veterans Fire Engine Association. Anders thanks him for the trophy, mentioning: "I've just the right spot for it in my den." Also included is a full sheet of fifty of the Apollo 8 (Scott #1371) 6¢ U.S. stamps in a beautiful presentation book with "HARRY F. BYRD, JR. United States Senate" stamped in gold on the cover. Anders is not common in autograph material. Letter has folds, else all in excellent condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
