    Description

    Space Shuttle Challenger (STS-41-G) Signed Launch Covers (Three). The thirteenth shuttle mission and the sixth flight of Challenger with a lot of "firsts," the first seven-person shuttle crew, the first with two women, the first American EVA by a woman, and the first Canadian astronaut. Three covers cancelled on the launch date of October 5, 1984, as follows: (1) Kennedy Space Center hand cancel on a generic cacheted cover, signed: "Bob Crippen", "Jon McBride", "Sally K Ride" (d. 2012), "David C. Leestma", "Kathryn D Sullivan", "Marc Garneau", and "Scully Power".
    (2) KSC pictorial cancel on uncacheted cover, signed: "Jon McBride", "David C. Leestma", "Kathryn D. Sullivan", and "Scully Power".
    (3) Greenbelt MD hand cancel on Goddard Space Flight Center Stamp Club cacheted cover, signed "Jon McBride". All excellent.
