Roger B. Chaffee Signed Color Photograph, 8" x 10", "To Joe/ With best wishes and many/ thanks for all you do/ for us./ Roger B. Chaffee." Roger Chaffee was selected as one of the pilots of the first three-man Apollo flight. Chaffee was killed with Gus Grissom and Ed White on January 27, 1967, in the Apollo 1 spacecraft flash fire during a launch pad test at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It was to be his first space flight. Chaffee's autograph is rare in any form. From the collection of renowned former physical trainer of the astronauts Joe Garino. This lot is accompanied by a signed certificate of authentication from Garino verifying its provenance.Auction Info
