PORTRAITS INSCRIBED TO DANCERS ROLLO AND VERNA PICKERT..

Please note: Autographs from the Leonard Finger collection have not been autenticated by Spence/Grad but we believe these autographs to be as stated.

Rollo and Verna Pickert were a dancing team that performed the club circuit in the 1940s. One of their specialties was dancing on stilts. During their years in show business, they collected signed publicity stills of their theatrical colleagues as souvenirs. We don’t know who their favorite performers were, but judging from the inscriptions of these photos, everyone thought Rolly and Verna were a sweet couple. This lot includes approximately sixty-five publicity stills personally inscribed to Rollo and Verna, plus a group of twentyone items depicting the Pickerts (production stills, souvenir night club photo, program from Detroit, portrait signed by Rollo, etc.) Many of the performers who provided their autographs are not well-known today, but some left their mark. They include: CARL BALLANTINE, MITZI GREEN and EVELYN BRENT.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
