Neil Armstrong Autograph Letter Signed "Neil," one page, 4" x 6". To Joe Garino, in full "Dear Joe: Sorry you were so put out about the last letter. The attached may help clarify the situation. (Since this was a private letter from the Administrator, I have clipped out a bit to preserve his privacy.) All the Best. Neil." A photocopy of an October 3, 1972 typed letter from NASA Administrator James Fletcher is present. A portion has been cut away by Armstrong. In part, "Recently many questions have been raised concerning materials carried on Apollo flights which were retained by the astronauts following the flights or given by them to others..." Fletcher has advised the astronauts, for the time being, to keep what they may have and "refrain from authenticating any items as having been on a space flight." Armstrong's letter and signature were penned by him in his block handwriting. Armstrong ALsS are rare. From the collection of renowned former physical trainer of the astronauts Joe Garino. This lot is accompanied by a signed certificate of authentication from Garino verifying its provenance.
