National-American Woman Suffrage Association Check Signed by Susan B. Anthony, Alice Stone Blackwell and Harriet Taylor Upton. 6.25" x 3", on printed bank stock, Warren, Ohio, February 6, 1897. The check is paid to Susan B. Anthony in the amount of $600 for "Clerk hire for 1897". The signatures of three key members of the women's suffrage movement on a Woman Suffrage Association check would be an important and highly representative addition to any women's suffrage collection. The check has a short 1" closed tear on the right edge; mounted to a stiff paper backing, Anthony's signature is slightly faded, otherwise in very good condition. From the Judith Kaplan Women's History Collection.
