NASA Vintage Color Glossy "Earthrise" Photo with a Collection of Pre-Shuttle Era Memorabilia and Autographs. A varied and interesting grouping of NASA collectibles from Mercury to Skylab, as follows.
    (1) A pristine 10" x 8" color glossy Kodak print of the iconic photo of the earth taken in lunar orbit by Apollo 8. It does not have the standard NASA caption in the margin but does have "2383" handwritten on the verso. Found in a collection from the period.
    (2) An 8" x 10" color NASA "business suit" litho print signed: "To Margie-/ John Glenn" in silver.
    (3) An 8" x 10" color NASA white spacesuit litho print signed: "To Margie-/ Best wishes, Fred Haise/ Apollo 13 LMP".
    (4) The January 2001 issue of National Geographic signed: "To Margie Wood- who's/ helping us get to Mars!/ Joe Kerwin".
(5-8) Four original NASA color glossies from the Apollo 11 mission: S-69-21393, AS11-40-5903, AS11-40-5868" (all red number), and AS11-40-5875 (blue number). These have all been subjected to "Houston humidity" and have light and varying amounts of paper attached to their surfaces (could likely be mitigated). There is no paper loss and they are otherwise beautiful examples of these well-known images.
(9-13) A group of NASA Facts publications including: "Space Benefits," "Most-Asked Questions About Space," "Manned Space Flight- The First Decade," "Apollo 17: The Last Apollo" (creased), and "Skylab - 1973 - 1974."
    (14) A Skylab Manned Flight Awareness medal, issued in 1974 and containing flown metal.
    (15) An Apollo 11 commemorative "moon plaque" black glass ashtray, 7" x 5", with gold trim and facsimile signatures of the crew and Richard Nixon.
(16-45) A group of thirty NASA 8" x 10" color (and B&W) litho prints of various crews and missions from Apollo, Skylab, and Apollo-Soyuz. One has corner damage.
(46-50) Two Apollo 12 peel and stick insignia by Vitachrome, a peel and stick insignia for Apollo 15 and one for ASTP, and a 3" diameter Apollo 17 embroidered patch.
All items are in excellent condition except as noted.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
