    John Glenn Signed Original NASA Photo and Typed Letter. The first American to orbit the earth. As follows.
    (1) A NASA B&W glossy (S-62-224) of Glenn in a casual sweater holding his hard hat standing in front of his launch site, signed in black felt tip: "John Glenn". Printed purple ink caption on verso. Excellent.
    (2) A typed letter signed, one page, 8.5" x 11" plain letterhead, Seabrook, Texas, May 19, 1965, to a young correspondent. Text, in full: "Thank you for your very nice letter and I sincerely/ hope you enjoyed your tour of Washington and the/ National Aeronautics and Space Administration./ It is always a pleasure to hear from young people such/ as yourself who have such an interest in the space pro-/ gram. I hope your interest continues as you grow older./ Give my best to your friends and thanks again for/ writing. Good luck in your school work./ Sincerely yours,/ [signed] J H Glenn, Jr./ John H. Glenn, Jr./ Colonel, USMC (Ret.)/ NASA Astronaut". Very fine with flattened mailing folds.
