    J. Edgar Hoover Typed Letter Signed "J.E. Hoover." One page, 7.25" x 9.25", on FBI letterhead, Washington, October 22, 1940. Addressed to the Polaroid Company and marked "Personal and Confidential," the FBI director transmits "a copy of a publication entitled 'Suggestions for Protection of Industrial Facilities' . . . for the confidential use of officials of industrial concerns and duly constituted law enforcement agencies." Included is the seven page publication mentioned above, addressed to Edwin H. Land, president of Polaroid, and signed by Hoover with a printed signature.

    The original letter contains a pencil notation by Edwin Land noting that the "attached receipt" that Hoover mentions in his letter has been "Executed & returned / 10/28/40."

    Condition: The letter is in near fine condition. The included publication has a large area of paper loss in the upper left corner of all pages.
