    Henry Ward Beecher Autograph Letter Signed with Cabinet Card. Four pages of a bifolium, 5" x 8", Liverpool, October 16, 1863. While on a speaking tour of England during the Civil War, the Protestant clergyman sends this letter thanking the recipient for sending $200 for the relief of some in slavery in America. The letter includes good content on Beecher's abolitionist opinions of slavery. Some mounting remnants on page four. The cabinet card (4.25" x 6.5") features Beecher seated in a studio, hat in hand. Imprinted on the reverse by J. Curney & Sons. Age-toned with a small hole and tear along the top edge.
