    Five Excellent Content R.E. Byrd Letters to Thomas B. Mulroy. Five Typed Letters Signed, each one page, 8.5" x 11", Boston. The letters mostly ask Tom's advice on oil supplies and what should be taken on the next expedition. Brief excerpts follow: November 7, 1931 ("REB")- "Will you please get in touch with Mr. Gittinger and see what you can arrange for the next expedition in the way of supplies and your salary..." November 27, 1931 ("R E Byrd")- "Many many thanks for your letter on the anniversary of our flight..." December 10, 1931 ("REB")- "Do you have a record of the oil and gas we took with us before? If you have, will you send me a copy?" February 12, 1932 ("R E Byrd")- "STRICTLY PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL. In case you go with me on the next expedition I would like to have your measurements..." February 19, 1932 ("R E Byrd")- "This is good news. I am awfully glad that the Commissioner has approved your appointment for another three months..." Very fine condition.
