"On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country..."

Ed White II: Boy Scout-Related Mementos Directly from His Family's Collection. White became a Boy Scout at an early age while growing up in San Antonio and his love for the organization continued through the rest of his life. There are five scout-related items in this lot, as follows: (1) A great item. On the blank verso of an unused post card, White has written by hand (in capital letters) the entire scout oath. It is speculated that he wrote this before the speech pictured in the photos below so that he would not stumble across any of the words were he called upon to recite it; (2) A Kraft paper covered and sealed 7.5"x 7.5" box with a long handwritten note from John Glenn to Pat White, in pencil on front, undated. It reads, in part: "This tape of the BSA meeting in Florida/ came before Annie and I left on a/ 5 week jaunt from which we just returned/ --- sorry I did not get it delivered before/ we left./ The letter accompanying the package/ said it contains both Gen White's and/ my remarks... See you soon/ John". (3-4) Two 10" x 8" B&W photos of White, wearing a scout kerchief over his white shirt, talking to an outdoor gathering of Boy Scouts; (5) A 2.625" medal: "In recognition of your service to the Boy Scouts of America". Engraved to "Edward H. White". All items in fine condition.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
