    David Livingstone Autograph Letter Signed. Two pages, 4.75" x 6.75", Leeds [England], October 10, 1857. Written to an unknown recipient, the doctor writes, in full: "My arrangements having been completed for the next two weeks I am sorry that I cannot accept your very kind invitation to York..." Small spots of foxing. Light soiling scattered throughout. Five small binding holes at the left edge. Light water staining at the upper and lower left corners. Text is faded in places, but entirely legible. Minor ink smudging in Livingstone's signature.

    Livingstone was traveling around the country on a speaking tour when he penned this letter from Leeds. Written to an unknown recipient, the doctor writes, in full: "My arrangements having been completed for the next two weeks I am sorry that I cannot accept your very kind invitation to York and I hear there is no prospect of my enjoying the pleasure of a visit for some time to come." Small spots of foxing. Light soiling scattered throughout. Toned edges; minor separation along the upper, lower, and left edges at the folds. Five small binding holes at the left edge. Light water staining at the upper and lower left corners. Text is faded in places, but entirely legible. Minor ink smudging in Livingstone's signature.
