Charles Lindbergh Flown Cover Signed. 9.5" x 4.25" cover featuring the "Cristobal to Miami" air mail route, Miami, cancelled on May 1, 1930, and signed November 26, 1931. According to Scott Specialized Catalogue, this stamp was issued on December 31, 1929. Stamped cachet of Cristobal to Miami route, reads: "Inaugurating 33 Hour Schedule, May 1, 1930." Ever the aviation pioneer, following his monumental trans-Atlantic crossing, Charles Lindbergh championed a campaign to open an express air mail route from Miami to Cristobal Colón (Panama Canal Zone) with stops in Havana, Cuba, and Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua. Lindbergh served as pilot on the inaugural run, flying a Sikorsky S-38 to complete the route. Self-addressed to V.E. Chenea, Pan American Airways, Miami, Florida. Signed vertically at left edge "C.A. Lindbergh 11/26/31." Typed at lower left: "Inaugurating first northbound flight 7-day service Buenos Aires to New York." Moderate toning; a handsome piece of aviation history.
