Charles Lindbergh Autograph Letter Signed "Charles A. Lindbergh." One page, 5.75" x 7.75", on "Government House" letterhead, St. Thomas [U. S. Virgin Islands], February 1, 1928, to Richard R. "Dick" Blythe. He writes in full:

"I received your wire about the Fairchild and certainly appreciate your offer. If I have any need for the plane which would make bringing it worth while I will cable you. Please don't think that I have forgotten to write you and Harry. The fact is that, as usual, I have not had time to write anyone. I am leaving for Puerto Rico in the morning and expect to end up in St. Louis on the thirteenth. Please give my best regards to Harry."

Following his historic flight from New York to Paris in May, 1927, and his return from the Guggenheim tour, he embarked on a goodwill tour of several Latin American countries on December 13, 1927. It was during this tour that he met his future wife Anne, the daughter of the United States Ambassador to Mexico. Dick Blythe, himself a famous aviator and a close friend of Lindbergh, and Harry Bruno, a trained pilot, owned the public relations firm, Bruno and Blythe, which promoted Lindbergh's flight to Paris.

Found at the top left corner of the letter is a five cent Cuban stamp with an image of a plane flying over a shoreline. Printed in black across the stamp is "Lindbergh/Febrero 1928." Folds; light staining at the top and right edge of first page. Fine. From the Richard Blythe Aviation Collection.
