Charles Guiteau Autograph Letter Signed "Charles J. Guiteau", one page, 8" x 10.5", Law Offices of Charles J. Guiteau letterhead, Chicago, nd (1870s). Written to an unknown recipient, it discusses the facts of a legal case. In part: "I was present on the trial. Two of the best lawyers in Chicago defended the Times & the jury gave $25,000. Story is worth only $250,000. Income $50,000. The morning after the libel was published all the other Chicago papers denied it so that in fact Miss Early may not damnified a $1 suit brought the day after...Every body said it served the Times right! But Miss Early did not have 1/20th the trouble I did. The law seems to be well settled, that if a great newspaper libels a virtuous woman, or a professional man, you can always make it respond heavily." Letters of Presidential assassins are widely collected and always in demand. In fine condition; upper left hand corner bears a staple hole; usual folds present.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
