Charles A. Lindbergh Two Typed Letters to Trans World Airlines Chairman Charles C. Tillinghast Jr. Signed "Charles (A. Lindbergh)" and "Charles". Each one page, 8" x 11", Darien, Connecticut, one on Tellina letterhead; the other on Planorbe letterhead, August 14, 1971 and January 5, 1972, to Charles C. Tillinghast, Chairman, Trans World Airlines, New York. In the first letter Lindbergh writes to the Chairman of Trans World Airlines, Charles C. Tillinghast, Jr. requesting assistance in obtaining photos for use in Anne Lindbergh's forthcoming book Bring Me a Unicorn; in the second letter Lindbergh thanks Tillinghast for his help. Excerpts from both letters, in part read: "Starting next year, my wife will publish several volumes of "Diaries and Letters." In these, there will be considerable mention of Transcontinental Air Transport, one of TWA's root companies as you know. If they are available, she would like to carry some of the photographs of the inauguration of TAT, in 1929...Anything showing my wife and/or me in conjunction with TAT or TWA up to 1942 would be of interest." Four months later Lindbergh thanks Tillinghast: "Some months ago, I wrote to you asking if you could arrange for me to get, in connection with the volumes of her "Diaries and Letters" that Anne is publishing, some early TAT photographs from your TWA historical files...Just a note to say thank you for your assistance." With the usual fold creases and some modest foxing at the top edge of each letter, otherwise with bold, bright Lindbergh signatures and in near fine condition.
