Charles A. Lindbergh and Carl Bohnen Signed Print. Sometime around 1930, Carl Bohnen (1871-1951), an artist and printer from Minnesota, produced this lithographic print (from his original pencil drawing) of Charles Lindbergh. Measuring 7.25" x 9.25" (sight), the young, smiling aviator is seen from the chest up, looking down and to his right, his right hand raised to his forehead in salute. Over his right shoulder stands the Statue of Liberty and over his left, the Eiffel Tower, symbolizing the first successful nonstop flight from New York to Paris in 1927.

The print is signed in the lower right corner first by Lindbergh, "C.A. Lindbergh," and directly beneath by Bohnen, "Carl Bohnen." A second printed signature by Bohnen is found in the lower right corner. Double matted and framed to an overall size of 11.25" x 13".

Condition: One small .25" (sight) tear can be seen peeking from the matting along the right edge of the image.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
