Apollo 8 "Earthrise" Color Photo Signed by Frank Borman and James Lovell Who Have Added Bible Verses. An 8" x 10" lithographed photo signed in gold ink: "In the beginning, God created/ the Heavens and the Earth.../ Col Frank Borman/ Apollo 8" and "'And God called the/ firmament, Heaven...'/ James Lovell/ Apollo 8". These biblical quotes from the first chapter of Genesis were read during a Christmas Eve TV broadcast to earth while they orbited the moon in 1968. Uncommon and desirable as such. Very fine.

Included with this lot is an Astronaut Central Certificate of Authenticity for the Lovell signature, signed by Kim Poor.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
