Signed by fourteen astronauts, including Neil Armstrong and five other moonwalkers.

"Gemini Spacecraft" Rare McDonnell Lithograph Signed by Fourteen Astronauts Who Flew in Project Gemini, from the Collection of an Astronaut's Family. A color image of the Gemini spacecraft with the equipment module attached, 9" x 15" sight size, double matted and framed to an overall 13.25" x 19.25". Along the left side of the image, eight astronauts have signed (top to bottom): "James A. McDivitt", "Charles Conrad Jr." (1930-1999), "Frank Borman", "Gene Cernan", "Michael Collins", "Dick Gordon", "Wally Schirra" (1923-2007), and "Tom Stafford". Along the right side, six more (top to bottom): "Gordon Cooper" (1927-2004), "James Lovell", "John Young", "Neil Armstrong", "Dave Scott", and "Buzz Aldrin". These fourteen men are all who flew on the ten Gemini missions, excepting Gus Grissom and Edward White II. The signatures are in various inks and most are bold and dark; the McDivitt, Collins, Schirra, Cooper, Scott, and Aldrin examples have faded a bit through the years, noted for accuracy. The caption printed at the bottom reads: "GEMINI SPACECRAFT/ Designed and built by MCDONNELL, St. Louis/ for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration". This is the first of these that Heritage has ever handled and it is excessively rare. A matching Mercury piece can also be found in this sale. Condition is as-issued save for very light bleedthrough at top from the framer's hinging; the frame has some minor scratches.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
