Description

Carl Jung Typed Letter Signed "C. G. Jung." One page, 8.25" x 10.75", on his personal letterhead, Zurich, October 4, 1929. Addressed to a Mr. Kennet in response to an inquiry into where he may find training in Jungian theory, in part as written:

"Unfortunately I am unable to give you the name of somebody in Geneva who would be a full-sized exponent of my particular school. There is only the wife of Dr. Adolf Keller. . . who is a personal pupil of mine. She is a student of Medecine and she speaks English fluently, and I think she would be quite capable of instructing a young man in the principles of my theory. As you probably know, most doctors are Freudians, whose theory is ever so much simpler. The psychologists dont bother, and the rest of the academical people is blissfully unaware, so my voice is as of one in the wilderness, except for a whole host of patients that keep me desperately busy."

Mat burned around the edges. A small hole at the upper edge has been repaired on the verso with tape. Weakening of the folds has caused separation at the edges of the horizontal fold. Minor staining to lower right corner. Jung's signature is bold.

Carl Jung (1875-1961)was Swiss psychiatrist and founder of Analytical Psychology. Psychological concepts pioneered by Jung include: the archetype, the collective unconscious, the complex, and synchronicity.
