DescriptionBraxton Bragg Letter Signed "Braxton Bragg." Two pages of a bifolium, 5" x 8", New Orleans; August 4, 1870. Addressed to an unknown fellow general, the letter reads:
"Your statement was accepted, and bears evidence of its correctness, as far as I am informed. No statement, which I can comprehend, has yet been made by the parties who recd the [illegible] & funds from you. It is well, then for you to be guarded about your vouchers. I shall certainly do the same." Bragg goes on to speak of the selling of ship parts.
Condition: Usual mail folds, with multiple areas of soiling. Small pencil notations, signature is large and bold. Overall very fine.
