    Description

Bill Clinton Autograph Letter Signed and Typed Letters (3) Signed all addressed to Congressman Dan Rostenkowski. The ALS is written on White House letterhead, 7" x 10.5", and is dated December 1, 1994. A heartfelt letter from the President thanking the Congressman for his years of service: "You'll never know how much your support and wise counsel have meant to me. As you leave Congress, I hope you will go with the immense pride you should have in all you've done for our country. You have the gratitude of this President whom you serve so well. Thank you. Godspeed, Bill Clinton." Rostenkowski had recently been defeated by Republican Michael Flanagan. He had served as United States Representative from Chicago since 1959.

Also included are three typed letters signed, most notably a letter (8.5" x 11") dated May 27, 1993 on White House letterhead in which the President thanks Rostenkowski for his support: "I deeply appreciate your vote for our economic growth and deficit reduction plan. I know it wasn't easy to stand behind a plan that involved so many tough choices. That is what makes your vote such an important statement of courage and conviction. Today, we began dealing with the financial deficit as well as the confidence deficit - burdens which have been dragging down both our economy and our citizens' trust in government..." Signed, "Bill" and adding a holographic postscript, "You were great."

Other two letters are dated December 23, 1994 (sending birthday greetings) and November 29, 1994 (thanking him for supporting the GATT implementing legislation). Also included is a TLS from Hillary Clinton dated December 23, 1993 sending birthday greetings and a printed invitation to dinner at the White House.

Condition: Clinton ALS has light toning and a light stain at left margin. May 27, 1993 letter has creasing along bottom margin and two small rust stains at center. December 23, 1994 letter has a small tear and creasing along top margin. Hillary Clinton letter has diagonal crease

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
