    Description

William Cullen Bryant Autograph Letter Signed and Poem Signed. The Romantic poet's letter (one page, New York, September 9, 1858) notifies "Miss A. A. Harris" that he has complied with an unknown request - likely for his autograph. On another sheet, Bryant's signature rests below a transcription in an unknown hand of his poem "To a Waterfowl." (The poem was added subsequent to the signature.) Both items are toned; the signed poem bears taped repairs on the verso.
