    Victor Hugo Autograph Envelope Addressed to a Boston Abolitionist. Signed "V. H.", 5" x 2.5", np, nd. Boldly penned in dark ink on a blue envelope albeit ragged all on sides and containing, in the upper right corner a note in an unknown hand identifying the autograph as Hugo's. Comprised of four lines, as follows: "Madam / Mary E. Stearns / Medford (near Boston) / "V.H." Mrs. Stearns, celebrated for her glittering salon, was the wife of the wealthy Boston businessman and noted abolitionist, George Luther Stearns. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.
