    T.S. Eliot Typed Letter Signed "Tom." One page, 7.75" x 9.5", on Faber and Faber Ltd. Publishers letterhead, London, May 18, 1961. The American-born English author here writes to Reverend William Turner Levy of New York apologizing that "we shall not be in London during the period of y our friend Dr. Theobald's visit" as he will be giving a lecture at Leeds. He adds that he cannot introduce Theobald to fellow author C.S. Lewis, but advises that Theobald write to him himself. Address panel on the verso. With a 5" x 6.75" photograph of Eliot.     Levy (1922-2008) was a friend of Eliot and wrote a book about him titled, Affectionately, T.S. Eliot: The Story of a Friendship, 1947-1965.
