Wodehouse, Tennessee Williams, Thornton Wilder, Zane Grey, Carl Sandburg, Sinclair Lewis, Rex Beach, Dale Carnegie, Dorothy Dix, Irvin S. Cobb, Pearl Buck, Upton Sinclair, Booth Tarkington, Max Eastman, and W. Somerset Maugham. Some have smoothed folds and corners slightly discolored by tape residue, but all are in fine condition.

    More Information:

The pencil sketches are by artist John E. Raitt, a civic-minded resident of Delhi, New York. Raitt, who died at the age of ninety-one in 2004, began sketching famous people as a teenager. He sent many of the sketches to their subjects, who often signed them and returned them. The artist has signed all seventeen of these sketches. Pearl Buck has written below her sketch, "Not a likeness, alas! But thanks for the effort." Max Eastman has written above his signature, "A nice drawing but you made the eyes too small."
