    Six Thomas Richard Hood Prints of Literary Greats, Signed by Hood and by Each Author. Six prints (five 8" x 11" and one 8" x 12.5"), n.p., three undated, three dated 1933. Small collection of handsome portrait prints by important American printmaker Richard Hood, featuring the following authors and poets: Edwin Arlington Robinson, Booth Tarkington, Christopher Morley, P. Edward Newton, Sinclair Lewis, and H.L. Mencken. Each image bears Hood's penciled signature as well as the signature of the individual author depicted.

    Hood taught art at the Philadelphia College of Art, and served as director of Pennsylvania's WPA Art Program. His works are displayed in permanent collections at several important museums, including the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery, New York's Museum of Modern Art, the Library of Congress, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Prints are faintly toned; three bear small paper mounts at upper corners.
