    Sir Walter Scott Autograph Letter Signed "Walter Scott." One page (of a bifolium) with an integral address leaf, 8" x 9.75", [Edinburgh, Scotland]; [circa 1819-1832]. A letter to a correspondent [illegible] at the Waterloo hotel in Edinburgh, in which he writes in part, "I have to enclose a letter from a most excellent painter Mr. [Henry] Raeburn of this city who is desirous of inscribing to him a print of the Earl of [illegible] done from a painting of his own which is highly credible to Scottish art. Should his request go to Mr. Peel or to the Lord Chamberlain? I have several other trifling requests of the same nature but...I will not trouble you with mine."

    Condition: Letter has the usual folds; paper loss on the address has been repaired by paper; very slight weakness along some of the intersections of folds; otherwise good.
