    Sabine Baring-Gould Autograph Lyrics for "Onward, Christian Soldiers" Signed "S. Baring-Gould." One page, 6.5" x 11.5", no place, no date. Five eight-line stanzas, signed at the conclusion. The popular hymn was written in 1865, reportedly in a burst of creativity that took only 15 minutes. It has since been sung at such important events as the Atlantic Charter in 1941, by The Salvation Army as its preferred processional, and often in Civil Rights protests.

    Condition: Flattened mail folds, with moderate toning throughout. One of the lower horizontal folds is repaired with archival tape on verso.
