    Description

    Robert Browning Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 4" x 6"; 19 Warwick Crescent; July 9. 1886. A letter to Mrs. Woods: "Dear Madam, You are quite welcome to include the Poem of the Pied Piper in the collection you propose to make." Signed, "Robert Browning." Browning grants permission for the use of "The Pied Pieper of Hamelin," one of his most famous works.

    Condition: Flattened mail fold, with mounting stains at the corners and along the right margin. Integral address cover on verso addressed in Browning's hand. With additional mounting stains on said cover at corners and at margins. A previous collector has written "Pied Pieper of Hamelin" in pencil at the bottom on the front.
