    Description

Maurice Sendak Signed Poster Entitled "Maurice Sendak." Signed "Maurice Sendak" at the lower right above the printed name. Measures 16 x 20 inches. Fine.

    More Information:

Printed in 1990, this gorgeous display piece was originally created in celebration of Maurice Sendak and the planned re-issue of many of his then out-of-print titles by Harper & Row. The acquisition and name change to HarperCollins delayed the project for over ten years which likewise prevented a wider distribution of this poster. Later, the poster was revised to include characters from We Are All In The Dumps and published in 2001 to celebrate Sendak's fiftieth anniversary as a children's book artist. This 1990 version, the earliest design of the poster, is quite rare. Fine condition.
