Katharine Lee Bates Autograph Poem Signed Autograph Manuscript Signed, of her poem "To The Old Year," delivered at a Wellesley College Address, 1 page, 7" by 6", Wellesley, Massachusetts, no date. Some wear and very slight discoloration at top; a tiny pencil note at bottom else fine. Best known for her patriotic lyric, "America the Beautiful," Bates was primarily a poet and an educator, serving for many years as the chair of the English department and dean of - the then new - Wellesley College. These verses, delivered at a Wellesley address, combine to represent her life's most significant work. In full: "Auf Wiedersehen! For we shall meet before / The Throne of God. The drifting snows confuse / The foot-prints. Down the echoing wind I lose / Thy voice. So be it. We shall meet once more. / When from the grave of Time thou com'st again / To front my soul in Judgment, witness bear / To error, failure, sin: but oh, my prayer / My strife forget not! Auf Wiedersehen." From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
