Isaac Bashevis Singer Working Draft Manuscript of "The Extinguished Lights." Ten pages, 8.5" x 11". The manuscript is typed and is heavily emendated throughout, with many corrections and changes in Singer's hand. Signed at the top of the first page, "From the book The Power of Light greetings Isaac B Singer." First published in Singer's 1980 collection of short stories, The Power of Light: Eight Stories for Hanukkah.

Singer (1902-1991) was a Polish-American writer; he received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1978. Singer wrote and published in Yiddish, so the manuscript offered here may be an English translation he edited.

Condition: First and verso of last page have soiling and creasing as well as a rust stain from a paper clip. Corners of all pages are bumped. First two pages have a stain at the left margin. Light annotations in pencil in top margin have been partially erased and are not legible. Edits and changes throughout manuscript are mainly in pen, with a handful made in pencil.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
